From the recordings I Would Have Liked to Know Him and Been There, Done That!
As I read the scriptures, sometimes I'm struck by the realization that these are real people I'm reading about--not just characters in some book. There are so many I admire. In this day of questionable role models, I just felt to write a song about a few of mine.

I heard of a man, Daniel
Who braved a lion's den.
'Cause he would not stop prayin',
The wicked threw him in.
An angel saved this Daniel
'Cause he was pure within.
Such faith and such devotion--
I would have liked to know him.
But Daniel lived in a distant day, oh so far away.

Who longed to understand
The gospel of our Savior
And all of his commands.

So that we could be free
To go home to our Father
And live with Him in peace.
Through faith and through devotion
I can come to know Him--
He is never very far away.
And servants He has chosen,
Like Daniel and Joseph,
Will all be brought together one fine day--
Not so far away.
Maybe I can get to know them all someday.
